Forged by hand, Silver Pangolin Bangle

This commission really took some doing.

It was created for a friend who adores the creatures and I needed to do him justice.

Bombarded with Pangolin imagery, videos and descriptions and learning how endangered they are and about the wonderful people trying to protect them in their natural habitats helped to create a little creature fit for the wrist with a few things to bear in mind like weight, cost and durability…

I started with some preliminary sketches and print outs and began.

Soon to start the chasing up of the initial shape it was not without accidental hammer blows…

It really took some doing but it was so very enjoyable.

Beautifully hallmarked by The London Assay office under his head and I couldn't resist adding his little feet to make him feel just that bit more 3D and real.

Very happy with the resulting “Bangolin” off to his new habitat.
