Transform to Taste

We all have changing tastes and styles, sometimes our jewellery just needs adapting to fit and suit our evolving lifestlyes or perhaps it requires adaption to preserve integrity and keep pieces going into the future, safely and securely.
This rather splendid pear cluster ring was quite a large piece to wear so the client wished for a beautiful pendant adding a complimenting 18 carat chain with my usual extra jump ring ends to allow the wearer to enjoy the piece with any neckline.
It works so well as an elegant pendant on a very elegant lady.
Her next ideas were to salvage rocks from a flush set ring, the ring and subsequently the stones had been well worn so to save and use them and the gold from the ring plus a coin mount and and neck chain it hung from the brief was to remake it all into jewels that hung from the neck and the ear.
I made concave disks from the gold, smelted down, hand beaten, planished and matt finished from the coin mount and neck chain and then used the gold from the ring to attach settings for the stones and elegant swan neck earring fittings with a matching bail for the pendant.
The resulting suite really suited her colouring and we now have four new elegant and versatile pieces for any occasion.
