Padparadscha Sapphire Ring

One of my all time fave stones.

A customer had some bought by her sister whilst on travels and decided to have a bracelet transformed into a ring to house her favourite gem.

Not all melt ups are the same.

Sometimes they are tricky and it is very much dependent on how the original item was manufactured as to the finished melt up to work from.

You have to carefully work this out and the metal needed to achieve a desired design result.

I added a touch of gold to get the depth needed to house the gem.

Once hallmarked it was on to the setters to achieve this beautiful flush star setting which really shows the gem off beautifully a really stunning piece.
