Stone changes, big rings and repairing things

Stone changes, big rings and repairing things

Realising Ive been somewhat quiet of late I thought id share a few things I’ve made, repaired and altered.

This first an existing Celtic ring is so sentimental, I found the desired piece of Baltic green amber to replace the worn stone and upgraded the setting to house the beautiful marquise cabochon piece.

These little earrings above lost their “click” such a complex tiny hinge system is great but this is a much more cost efficient option to keep these dear little diamond drops in action by fabricating a little swan neck replacement, such pretty little versatile earrings.

The next piece a terribly sentimental watch which needed potentially removing everything and soldering so instead I adapted “jump ring” style ends in keeping with the piece, I reset marcasites and blackened the new etched end rings to match the body of the watch style wise so then a fabric strap could then be reattached.

The next a bench full of silver repairs, I decided to make one of the removed sections of one bracelet to make into a fun matching ring as otherwise its just sat in a box, a great idea for any chunky bracelets which are sectioned like this.

This next beast of a ring was made by me straight from my rough sketch, it emerged as I first looked at the smokey quartz with its long glinting facets, these brainstorms happen as I gaze at stones or whilst speaking with people talking fondly of their loved ones and get scribbled down in my diary, this commission then got made for a great customer of mine’s dear friend, a bold piece indeed and not her biggest ring Im told!

I have some space coming up for any commissions, big or small, flamboyant or sleek and elegant, you decide where it goes.

As well as a full design and remodelling service I also offer repairs and restoration so do get in touch.

I look forward to working with you.

Much love

Sarah xx
