A lovely set of Amethysts pieces and a solitary pear shaped stone found their way to me.
The owner and I chatted before I embarked upon reimagining these into couple of new pieces using the stones, the gold was to be used as part payment.
The lady in question suited Silver and we wanted something fluid and versatile for the wrist and something a bit special for the pear drop Amethyst as a neckpiece to take in the little diamonds from the Amethyst ring.
I made this lovely bracelet and pendant set after we went through possible style types and brainstormed ideas.
I then hand drew the designs - a process I have always done to get a real feel of what Im about to make from depth of stones to wrist size to metal weights, we tweak and twist things until we are happy with the resulting final idea.
This process completely allows me to 3D imagine what I am about to embark on and just how Im going to make it.
subsequently it allows me accurately cost up without the need for the more modern CAD technique which I do sometimes use for more elaborate gold and sometimes hollow pieces, but making this straight away in Silver and just one each of them, for me, this is still the most affordable, natural and fluid way of working.
We were both very pleased with the resulting jewels.

Built to last and to be enjoyed đź’ś
