Ring the changes ✨

Sometimes inherited pieces or our own rings can no longer be worn.

For many reasons - maybe they feel uncomfortable on the fingers especially if they are heavy rings, arthritic joints can at times be too sore to entertain even a hinged shank to clip on the finger (like a hinged bangle) or simply the style doesn't fit or they just don't suit us anymore.

Often by simply transforming them into pendants it is a cost effective and wonderful way of preserving and keeping them in service and enjoyed.

A very grand ring sometimes too dressy for many occasions can feel less daunting as a pendant.

Here are two examples of this - this first an impressive piece with the gold of the shank used to make the pendant bail.

Worn simply on a beautiful silver barleycorn chain this impressive antique diamond ring transformed into a much more wearable option.

This next platinum marquise shaped galleried ring with a large claw set central diamond and pavé set diamond insert was not getting the wear it deserved.

The shank of the ring was removed and returned to the customer for future use and I handmade a new platinum galleried top section bail to compliment the piece to hang on a new platinum chain, I attach jump rings at alternative lengths giving the wearer flexibility with different necklines.

Design integrity intact, grand pieces kept grand - to continue being worn and enjoyed for many more moons.

A third option here is the transformation of a chunky unworn ring into two pairs of earrings.

So valuable in gold alone it more than paid for cast settings and white gold butterflies to house the diamonds into cute wearable every day diamond studs, one pair to keep, one pair for a very lucky friend to mark a special birthday.
